I've seen some very sophisticated attempts to get me to click on a web-virus alert that looked just like a Window's defender notification that was flashing about how I might have a virus. Luckily I don't use the Window's defender (I have another virus protector running) so I knew the notification was a scam to get me to click on it, which would likely have loaded a virus on my computer. But, most average users seeing a virus warning that looks legitamite I'm sure would click on it and not realize that they have become a victim.
